Can I print on rib knit fabric?
Yes. Because the rib is so fine, it is printable like cotton jersey. Screenprinters are advised to use a stretch-additive in their plastisol ink
What is ring-spun yarn?
Ring-spun is a superior cotton yarn that results in a softer, more durable fabric than open-end yarn. The ring-spun spinning process takes 5 times longer to produce, involving two extra steps than in the production of open-end yarn. The additional steps involve continuously twisting & narrowing the rope cotton fibers which results in extra softness & strength, and ultimately a superior fabric.
Are your garments preshrunk?
Preshrunk garments are identified as such in the product description. Manufacturers use a process called compaction which forces the same amount of fabric into a smaller area. Cotton is a natural fiber and will shrink. As the cotton fiber shrinks, the compaction washes out resulting in a very low shrinkage. T-Shirts are also purposely cut longer to allow for shrinkage in the oversall length.
What does fabric weight mean (i.e. 10oz)?
In Canada, it is the average weight per yard multiplied by the linear width of the fabric based on available colour selection. When weighed independantly white is lighter than black. Samples of every colour are weighed together to determine the average weight.
In the USA the weight is calculated by the square yard, therefore resulting in a lower ounce weight per garment. The same 10oz T-Shirt in Canada is sold as a 6oz T-Shirt in the USA.
In Europe the weight is calculated in grams per square metre (gsm/m²).
To prevent any misunderstandings, we list all 3 weights for the various manufacturers garments.
What causes the centre crease line down the front of T-Shirts?
When fabric is processed, it is compacted (fed through rollers). Since most garments are tubular, the sides are folded over when pressed down through the compactor, resulting in a crease, causing the line. Some manufacturers quarter-turn the fabric before the cutting process, moving the crease to the side which is removed during the first wash.

I want to brand the garments with my own labels. Can you help me?
Sorry, we don't sew in labels. Some of our products are classified as Label Free insofar as the label is printed into the garment. A custom label can then easily be sewn to hide the manufacturers printed tag. Styles with this feature are available in some Fruit of the Loom T-Shirts and Fleece.
A new innovation is the Tear Away Tag by Alstyle Apparel. Garments contain a perforatted label which is easily removed. This feature has been extremely well received by customers wanting to Private Label. View Here or Watch a 5 Second Video.
There are several local Contract Sewing Companies in Vancouver which will sew or print in customer labels in small or large quantities. For convenience, we can drop ship your order directly to a contractor.
I want to ship to the USA. Can you help me?
Our advise is to only use duty-free NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) friendly goods (Alstyle Apparel & King Athletics & Los Angeles Apparel), which will save you a lot of hassel & import/export duty. If you order NAFTA goods from us, we will provide a Certificate of Origin. These documents are required by your customs broker, freight forwarder or by American Customs Officials if you opt to clear your own shipment. Purolator provides some useful information on their web site PurolatorCrossBorderInfo
How do I care for my products?
Most of our product are made with 100% preshrunk cotton. It is normal to expect 5-7% shrinkage after several washes. Ideally - warm wash (fleece - cold wash) and dry low. Colours should be washed separately from whites or pastels, especially the first wash. Use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Remove garments promptly from dryer. By all means, check the garment label for details.
